Expressions of Interest

David and Max will be spending the next couple of years investigating prospective sites for establishing and developing their own vineyards. The focus will be on sites conducive to a high density planting, incorporating sustainable viticulture and a minimal spray program. Climate and soils - terroir in a more holistic sense - will augment this vision. Ideally, pinot noir and riesling will comprise the major planted grape varieties.

Thus far, Max and David have had the chance to tour and experience the majority of grapegrowing regions in New Zealand. Max will shortly be spending an extended period in Tasmania and then the cooler grapegrowing regions of Victoria. David has already toured the Okanagan in Canada and will soon be visiting grapegrowing areas in the United States. Both men envision trips to the great regions of Europe before long.

In addition, David and Max have also formulated some unique business ideas and exciting prospects for the future of New Zealand wine.
