It started out with two blokes. Two young, naïve and supremely ambitious men that had a singular idea: to make great wine.

It was a cliché.

But screw clichés.

Gazardiel wines is the culmination of two rampant imaginations that dare to dream. And what’s more, they’ve set out to fulfil these dreams. With the sort of care and attention to detail that is undeniably unprecedented unless wading through the throes of passionate wine ecstasy, David Paterson and Max Marriott set themselves the highest standards. Gazardiel Wines was born of this underlying ethic.

There is a legend. A story. A wine fable.

The birth of Burgundy. Ancient folklore tells of a barrel of red wine. Simple red wine, yet a red liquid that was of monastic heritage. A fallen angel came to shed its wings, and those very same wings ended up in the oak barrels of that same red wine. A red wine made from the pinot noir grape. With maturity, the wine from that barrel took on ethereal qualities and thus, red Burgundy was born.

In conjunction with this underlying theme, Gazardiel is the angel of new beginnings, which also translates to new daily beginnings in the form of the rising sun. A sun that provides renewed light so critical to the ongoing physiological development of the vines and their precious fruit.

Gazardiel wines encapsulates this idea; a heavenly figure that walks as if man, divulging secrets of omnipotent custom. A lasting legacy to produce elixir fit for gods.

A new beginning.

A new day.

A new idea.
